3 mushrooms

I seems that lately I only have time for quick sketches. The ink is done with the Pentel brush pen. The first time I used my new Derwent coloursoft pencils.

I’m sure you were looking for a different audience for your artwork, but you got me instead.
I was actually looking for three foot, three dimensional mushrooms for a baby shower that I’m trying to decorate in a fantasy theme. I came across your drawings and something about them just stopped me in my tracks. I find them fascinating. I appreciate the detail and am very fond of the softness, but there is something about the feeling they evoke in me, especially this one, that I’m having difficulty finding the words to express.
It makes me smile, i think, because it reminds me of the happiness of my childhhod and the haapiness of raising my own children, yet I have a sadness that the magic I remember from both doesn’t seem to be around much anymore and will escape have departed this world forever by the time my I have grandchildren….. And you thought you were just drawing mushrooms, didn’t you?

Very nice drawing. This is perfect to put in the wall of the room of my new baby as it resembles the family that is starting to come out.
