Bamboo strokes

Just playing with the hake brush that came by mail today. What better way to test it than in a Sumi-e style painting.

The goat hairs react differently than the brushes I’m used to but it gets some cool effects and packs a lot of color. I think I like it. Now I have to see how it can integrate in my workflow.

Awesome work – as soon as I saw it, I saw where – in my home – I’d like to put it. Amazing work – esp for a first-time user of the brush. I’m going to enjoy exploring the rest of your site.

Oh how I wish I had the talent to put paint on paper and create something that beautiful.

Hmmm, wow, it’s beautiful. So you just have make a run on your brush and it turned out like this? Japanese or Chinese style?

That is really beautiful. How long does it take for you to come up with a masterpiece like that?

This really is a beautiful representation of bamboo, so delicate. Even though bamboos are such strong growing plants, which I can attest to as we have lots growing on some land we own, the painting does not conflict with it’s true image in Asia.
